We could be biased, but based on feedback received, we think National Night Out (NNO), co-sponsored by HCA at Hillandale Park on August 5, was the best NNO event in Montgomery County. There were new and old fire trucks, police vehicles and free ice cream (thanks much to the Friends of White Oak for their sponsorship). 

Safety officials from the Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department 12, Montgomery County Police Department, National Capital Park Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Transportation Police, and Maryland State Troopers were in attendance as well as McGruff the crime dog. 

Elected officials and representatives were there, including Montgomery County Council member Kristin Mink, Maryland State Senator Will Smith, Maryland State Delegate Lorig Charkoudian and Ms. Ariell Mello, Chief of Staff for Maryland State Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins. 

Many thanks to Montgomery County Regional Services, which awarded HCA a Neighborhood Events Matching Funds Program grant that paid for the park permit and advertising.
