Hillandale is located in Maryland on both sides of New Hampshire Avenue north of the Capital Beltway in Montgomery and Prince George's counties (view the map). This site is dedicated to providing you with information about the community and is maintained by the Hillandale Citizens Association (HCA) which was established in 1937.

Public Meeting Invitation

Focus on Hillandale: Development Expectations/Review, Transportation Infrastructure, and Bus Rapid Transit Where: We Achieve Center, 10501 New Hampshire Ave. When: Thursday, April 25 from 7:00-9:00 PM With more development and increased density proposed to come to the old 46-acre Labor College in West Hillandale and possibly elsewhere in Hillandale, HCA has organized a session with county planners and transportation staff to concisely explain to residents how additional development will "fit-in" to our community, how infrastructure is evaluated, and how our busy roads may/will change including with the New Hampshire Bus Rapid Transit line now in planning stages. Please plan to attend and encourage your neighbors to join you. It is important that HCA and county staff hear from you to help us prepare for the future of Hillandale.

2024 Membership Drive

The Hillandale Executive Board is excited about our future and we want you to be part of it! All of our board members are unpaid but dedicated volunteers. Please consider joining the Hillandale Citizens Association (HCA).

• Mission: The main goal of the HCA is to help make Hillandale a better, safer and more enriching environment for you and your family.
• Public Forum: Consider the HCA as your source for learning about developments in the community and for speaking out on neighborhood issues that concern you.
• Advocacy: The HCA advocates for the interests of the Hillandale community before the County Council and other venues.
• Social Events: National Night Out in August and the Holiday party in December

Our modest budget supports all of the above as well as the Hillandale Bulletin which is mailed free-of-charge to all Hillandale households. We are still a very active neighborhood association with a history that goes back decades. Each year we solicit a voluntary $20 dues contribution from all households in the greater Hillandale community. Although not mandatory, the money helps cover our basic operating expenses each year and pay for community activities such as the holiday party and National Night Out.
